Reuth & the Paralympic Swim Team

Israeli Friends of Reuth hosted a cocktail reception this summer that inspired many. The celebration was in honor Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital sponsoring and providing medical support to the Israeli Paralympic Swim Team for the 2020 games. Rivi and Yossi Irani, hosted the evening in their beautiful home in Herzliya for some 100 guests including well known Israeli physicians, businessmen, athletes, and TV personalities.

Inbal Pezaro, Israel’s most decorated medalist, moved the audience while sharing her life story and the wonderful journey of the Paralympic swim team. She is a gold, silver, and bronze medalist, athlete of the Year, and shared her talents when she volunteered in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a swimming instructor for a naval commando unit. She was interviewed by Professor Rafi Heruti, Director of the Rehabilitation Division at Reuth, who has been her physician for over 20 years and who will lead the medical team for the 2020 Paralympics.

The audience was wowed by a special jazz band, whose members are mostly physicians, including Reuth’s own Professor Avi Ohri – founder of the hospital’s rehabilitation division. The successful event sparked press and social media coverage and the interest of guests who want to get more involved – three visits to the hospital have already been scheduled.

To hear Inbal Pezaro live, please join us at the American Friends of Reuth Gala Dinner on November 12.
