Reuth & the Paralympics – A True Partnership

Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital adopted Israel’s Paralympic Swimming Team for the Paralympics games in Tokyo 2020.
 
In a festive ceremony held on February 6th, a collaboration agreement was signed between Reuth Hospital and Israel’s Paralympic Committee.
 
As part of the medical sponsorship agreement, the hospital’s multi-disciplinary team will provide medical treatments, consultation and support for all swimmers, in order to prepare them for international tournaments and championships leading to the Paralympic games.
 
Upon its return from The World Para-swim championship in London,Israel’s paralympic swim was warmly welcomed by Dr. Dov Albukrek, the general manager of Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital. The team returned with some excellent achievements which included one gold medal, two silver and one bronze medal. In addition, the 23 year old swimmer, Mark Muliar broke the world record for 400 free style including 20 Israeli records. Reuth Rehabilitation hospital is proud to lead the medical sponsorship for the Israeli swim team on their way to Tokyo 2020. Apart from their achievements, Israel’s paraswim team is a mirror of Israeli society and an inspiration to many. Prof. Rafi Heruti who heads the rehabilitation unit in Reuth has been the team’s physician for over 20 years. The medical sponsorship means that Reuth runs periodical check ups, provides substantial services on an on going basis and during competitions and enables the swimmers to maximize their potential. Inbal Pezaro who is the most decorated athlete in Israeli history grew up in the team from the age of 11.
