Bar Tuito, Reuth TLV

Bar Tuito, 28, fled the Nova music festival on foot with his friends. They walked for five hours until they found shelter in the Patish Moshav. With hundreds of terrorists in the area and bullets zipping past, Bar showed resourcefulness, leadership, and extraordinary courage. He is now working hard in rehabilitation at Reuth TLV after getting injured in a motorcycle accident.
He recounts his shocking escape from the terrorists: “I told my friends, “Let’s leave the car and run.” At that moment, I heard a terrible boom. They must have fired an RPG at one of the cars behind us. We looked at each other, got out of the car, and started running in a field that had been plowed. We jumped from ditch to ditch. People right next to me were getting hit by bullets, falling left and right. This wasn’t regular panic. It was the worst situation imaginable. It was incomprehensible. It wasn’t a terrorist or two, but hundreds. The young women I tried to help and save, I don’t remember their faces, just their facial expressions. They were all traumatized.”
